If you’re looking at this photo and thinking, “Now, this isn’t a real baby…” you’re right. This is Sadie, our 4-year old lab/pit. But after picking up my brand new Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM lens for our Canon Digital Rebel XTi, Sadie has been a very good subject for me to test out some photography skills. My cousin’s husband recommended this lens after I asked him how he was getting such amazing portrait shots of my cousin and their newborn.
I’ve only had the lens for a couple days and I’ve already been able to get some really amazing photos with it. Check out some of them here and here. This lens basically transformed my basic digital SLR camera body into an amazing semi-professional camera. If you’re looking for an amazing lens and one that is recommended by every photography site and blog I checked out, you should check out the Canon 50mm f/1.4.
