Yesterday, Sarah and I had another ultrasound appointment. I suppose a benefit to having twins is that they want to follow up with them a lot more, so we get to see them more often before they’re born. While I do not envy Sarah having to drink so much water and hold it during an ultrasound, I do appreciate getting to see my kids.
Just a note: Some future ultrasounds will label the babies as Twin A and Twin B. For your reference, Twin A = Cleaker 1 and Twin B = Cleaker 2.
So today we got a chance to spend some more time just watching the babies move around and boy oh boy, Cleaker 2 was excited to see us! He/she (though I kept calling him a “he”) was jumping around, doing flips, waving, kicking, wiggling his 5 little toes that measure 1mm. It was really fun to see.
Now, Cleaker 1 (Twin A) on the other hand, was just hanging out…possibly even napping. At one point he turned to look at us and he gave us his “Hi, I’m a Gummi Bear” look. That was cute and all, but other than that, he just hung out. Cleaker 1 just chillaxed while Cleaker 2 was like, “Dude – there they are! WOOHOO! Look at them! Hell, look at MEEEEEEEEEEE!”
Were we seeing personalities already? Perhaps Cleaker 2 will be our extrovert and Cleaker 1 will be our introvert? Who knows – but it was fun. On a more serious note, they wanted to check out the membrane between the twins – and that all turned out great. The one thing they still couldn’t tell clearly was whether or not there was 1 placenta or 2 – so we’re still waiting on that. Also – it was way too early to determine the gender, but I keep calling them boys. I don’t know what that means, but that’s just what I’m doing. Finally – you can see both babies here in this final photo.

You’ll see those little nibblets doing all kinds of different things demonstrating varying “personalities”. My introvert was CRAZY in utero. Fun to think about though.

Just a copywrite note: I call my twins Click and Clack. As long as you don’t represent to be speaking about Click, we’re golden….
