Phew.
It felt good to announce to our church today that we are pregnant. I can’t speak for Sarah, but I’m guessing that for her too it’s just nice for people to know. It also has helped it to make it more of a reality. Sure it doesn’t mean that Cleaker 1 & Cleaker 2 are any MORE real now – but talking about it more, hearing ideas and advice from people, is just helpful in this whole process of realizing what we have ahead of us in the next 7 months.
Our church is a really wonderful community and everyone was so excited to hear our news today. Likewise, my Twitter & Facebook communities (and yes, I used the word community) was very encouraging and excited for us as well. It was fun to be able to share the news with all of our friends far and wide, those we know personally and those we just know from various internet connections.
It’s encouraging to know that there are a greater group of friends, family and others who are now with us on this journey. Now there are other folks we can talk to about things that come up, other people we can seek out when we’re feeling overwhelmed. Granted, now we have an ever-widening circle of people who will offer their well-meaning advice – which I’m told can get old after awhile – but for now, I’m enjoying it and breathing a little easier now.
Deep breaths. You are going to need them.
It was SOooo hard not telling people. It is like a dam has burst and news is flowing forth! 🙂
I love that, Cleaker 1 and Cleaker 2. When Philip was inside we called him Spike. 🙂
CONGRATS! Wow! Are you gonna live blog the birth? I used Tumblr for my daughter’s birth.
Haddon – thanks for the link. That’s fun to see your site. Well — as of right now — the one who will be giving birth is saying “No – that won’t happen.” So it will more likely be a Posterous post or two on adamwc.me.
