One thing we’ve been realizing is that there is certainly SO MUCH to learn about having babies. And we’ve really only scratched the surface of the books that are out there. Right now, I’m reading through The Expectant Father, which I am really enjoying. It certainly isn’t going to tell me everything that I should expect, but I am finding it really helpful. Of course, everyone has their own favorite book that they’d like to recommend for us to read, so that’s fun to deal with.
However, last night, I ran across The Perfect Baby Handbook: A Guide for Excessively Motivated Parents. It looks like it’s filled with some really helpful information and might be worth picking up. The great thing is that it also has a website, a blog (yah – last update was August of 2009, so…oh well) and has some videos posted on YouTube that you can watch as well. I watched one on poop that I found really intriguing and wanted to share it with you below the jump. I hope you find it as informative and enlightening as I did.

That’s a great one. Here’s a few others – one goofy and the other really good for helping kiddo(s) start to sleep through the night…

I am sure you will continue to receive a lot of advice and book recommendations. I would strongly urge you to google all of them and weigh the good and the bad reviews of each. That being said, I offer an alternative to the Babywise method:

I’m also going to direct you away from the Babywise system… a line of books written by someone whose children don’t speak to him (presumably because of what a horrible father he was), and who actually has NO pediatric training. At all.
Anything by Dr. Sears is going to be a good book. 🙂
